Dr. Jared Moffett

Your Madison Orthodontists

Dr. Jared Moffett is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. It was at Mississippi State University that Dr. Moffett met his wife, Leslie, and the two were married in 2011 following graduation.

In 2012 they moved to Jackson, MS for Dr. Moffett to attend dental school at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Moffett served as class president of his dental class for four years and received numerous achievements including the J. Julius Ratliff Orthodontic Award, Pierre Fauchard Leadership Award, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists' Award. More importantly, it was during his first year of dental school that Dr. Moffett met Dr. Walley (who was an orthodontic faculty member at the dental school), and realized that he wanted to become an orthodontist.

In 2015, Dr. Moffett was accepted as one of four residents to the Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN. Dr. Moffett spent 3 additional years training at UT, and he graduated with both his orthodontic certificate and Master of Dental Science Degree. Immediately following graduation, Dr. Moffett joined Dr. Walley and his team.

Dr. Kenneth Walley

Dr. Walley has been setting the highest standards of excellence in orthodontics for over 40 years. He attended Co-Lin Community College, followed by Mississippi College, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. It was at Mississippi College he met his wife Rebecca. They have 2 sons, Kenny and Richard, and a grandson named Parker.

Dr. Walley attended dental school at the University of Tennessee, and following graduation, he worked as a general dentist in Mississippi for 4 years. Dr. Walley and his wife then moved to St. Louis, MO for him to specialize in orthodontics at St. Louis University. After receiving a master's degree in orthodontics, he returned to Mississippi and opened his orthodontic practice in Jackson, MS in 1980. He built an office in Madison, MS in 1997, and he and the staff have traveled between the two offices since then. In addition to his private practice, he served as a clinical professor of orthodontics for over 34 years at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry.

An esteemed member of the dental community, Dr. Walley is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and an active member in many leading dental and orthodontic organizations, including the American and Southern Association of Orthodontists.

Madison Braces

Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They're made out of metal or ceramic brackets that are attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. These brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the positions we want them to be in if you have regular adjustments with our doctors.

Madison braces are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Because they can sometimes work faster at aligning teeth and closing gaps than other treatments might, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Braces don't need some of the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can, making Madison braces a cost-effective orthodontic option.

Madison Invisalign

Invisalign is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists and is the top alternative to traditional braces. Instead of brackets and bands, Madison Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth.

Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. In order to keep your teeth moving in the direction you want them to, you'll generally need to switch your invisible trays out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. The Invisalign system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed exactly! Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.

Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option. A free consultation with Moffett & Walley Orthodontics will allow us to determine your Invisalign eligibility.
